Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate patient care and support to animals in a clinical setting.
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures, including animal catheterization, intramuscular injections, and venipuncture.
  • Monitor sedated patients and anesthetized patients.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using veterinary terminology.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Educate pet owners on proper care and handling techniques.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a high standard of care and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Veterinary Technician Certification in the state of Ohio
  • Proven veterinary experience with a focus on patient care
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology
  • Proficient in animal handling, restraint, catheterization, and venipuncture
  • Experience with dental terminology and charting
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures
  • Ability to handle dogs and cats using Fear Free methods
